You know the deal – it’s coming to the end of the season, we still have another episode to shoot but we’ve blown all the budget on Klingon face-masks and fancy interior lighting, so we are forced to fall back upon that most ancient of TV rituals – the clip show.
This is where we cobble together clips from previous episodes, with some kind of flimsy premise as to why we are doing it (character thinks back on life; character wins award; character trapped in basement; character shoots up on smack). And there we go – instant episode using only one camera, one actor and Tony working overtime in the cutting room.
And a clip show may also be good for my thousands of new readers (hello thousands of new readers!). You see, yesterday I had the good fortune (and talent) to be quoted on PZ Myers’ blog. The subsequent flood of hits led to me being listed as “Wordpress growing blog number 1” which led to even more hits, and when I woke up yesterday I had 1600 hits, and the day ended with over 4000. Consider that over the 18 months until now I had only collected 18,000 hits. I was, to say the least, staggered.
So in order to update these new people (and convince 5% of them to stay!) here is a little compendium of some of my best moments (according to me, and keep in mind that I am lazy and may just have picked the first ones I saw).
